Throwing Taster Days
About our Throwing Taster Days
These fun throwing courses are for beginners who would like to try their hand at throwing and get to know some of the basics. The course will be held in the Kiln Shed, which is a large purpose-built studio within our grounds at Whichford Pottery that allows plenty of space to practice.
The principles of the techniques are introduced through short demonstrations. The rest of the time will be spent practicing these methods and getting through lots of clay with help on hand every step of the way!
The course covers:
- Clay Preparation
- Learning to centre
- Throwing a basic cylinder
